Welcome to Tulare First Baptist Church. My name is Chris Peterson and I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at the young age of 5 and was baptized at the age of 9. An important time came in my life when I was 16. While deciding college and career choices the Lord asked me, "Where am I in your plans?" At that point I recommitted my life to Him for His service. For 17 years it was in the area of public education. The thrill of seeing young lives learn and grow is amazing. But now the Lord has set me on another path and that is as Director of Equipping Ministry.

The purpose of the Equipping Ministry is to engage 100% of the Tulare First Baptist Church family in living out a Purpose Driven Life fulfilling the five-fold purposes of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry service, and evangelistic mission. My role is to assist people in finding the tools they need to become the Christians God has intended them to be. I want to work with people and help them discover what they are called to do and provide the training and/or resources needed to fulfill that calling. This will be done through prayer, individual conversations and classes. I believe relationships are made and developed when an individual engages in learning and serving through teams and small groups.

This ministry position is new to the church (as of June 2005) and I am excited about all that God has planned for the Church Body, community and me. Just for fun! I enjoy finding out about people's favorite things and their enjoyments so let me share some of mine with you and I would love to hear yours:
I was born in a small farming community in New York. We moved out to California when I was 7 years old. I spent most of my life in the farming community of Waukena which is located just west of Tulare. I have a love for animals especially sheep and dogs. My favorite color is blue and flowers always make me smile.
