HOME BIBLE STUDIES: The Word Made Fresh

Beginning September 26, 2010 our church will embark on a 40 day journey of reading through the entire New Testament. This endeavor is not for the faint-of-heart but will provide the bedrock for the transformation and renewal of our hearts and minds that we so often talk about.

Using a brand new format of the New Testament put together by Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society), we will have the opportunity to engage the God’s Word in a fresh new way. The goal of this unique study can be summed up in three “C’s”:

The Complete Bible … Understood in Context … Experienced in Community

• The Complete Bible because there are no outside commentaries or devotional books; it’s simply the inspired Word of God contained in the New Testament.
• Understood in Context because the format of the reading and the arrangement of the text will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. The Bible text is presented without breaks, chapter markings or verse markings. It reads like it probably did in its original format!
• Experienced in Community because the element that pulls all this together is the weekly meeting times with a small group to discuss what God has shown you through your reading. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”! (Proverbs 27:17).

We hope that ALL small groups whether meeting on Sunday mornings during the Growth Hour or those that gather in homes during the week will take advantage of this opportunity to sink your teeth into the truth of the Word!
